Our client is an Australian owned specialist lighting & electrical manufacturer servicing the Middle East, APAC and Australia. Their core focus includes Luxury Hotels, Accommodation market, Student Accommodation, Major landmark projects and the Australian wholesale market.

Our client has six warehouses nationally, field sales teams in all states, inhouse design teams, huge distribution & supply chain capabilities, technical teams, firmly established in the wholesale channel, their own factory and very scalable. This allows them to win major landmark projects.

They can offer a full turnkey solution and a first to market in Australia procurement management format. Products they offer include, Exit Emergency, Smoke Alarms, Sensors, Lighting, Pendants, Switches & PowerPoints (the list goes on). They already have established relationships with Australia’s largest and most famous hotels and luxury residential accommodations.

Your key responsibility is to gain further market share with all the major tier one developers across Sydney & Brisbane. You will be the face of this business and drive their excellent reputation to new heights throughout the property development world. You will be networking at all the events, traveling and continue to build profile within this sector. You will have full support to really level up in this position. 

Building on very strong foundations that have been laid over the past decade, this organisation continues to expand their reach both nationally & internationally.



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager / Project Director.

Drive new full turnkey solutions and procurement management solutions for lighting, electrical and automation to major developers within an already firmly established commercial lighting business. You will have previous experience with Hotels, Project Directors, National Tier One Developers (such as, Scape, Lendlease, Greystar, Hines, Multi-plex & Mirvac), Accommodation Providers, Project Managers / Directors, Specifying Engineers, Contractors, & Australia’s largest construction companies.

You will offer design, supply, delivery & ongoing maintenance to major companies. You will be the first Australian company to offer this procurement management format to the market. Offer a full turnkey solution and procurement management for the developers. Your responsibility is to roll this out, bring onboard more developers and gain market share. Our client is already offering this solution and has long term exclusive contracts with luxury accommodation groups in Australia.

You don’t have to come from a lighting background, we are open to candidates who have offered this solution previously to major tier one developers in Australia. Other sectors could include, furniture, plumbing, sanitary, security ect. (the list goes on)

Skills & Experience

You must have the following experience for this position:

  • Excellent relationships with project directors and developers.
  • Very well networked and attending all the important property events across the country.
  • Must be confident, very approachable & great presentation.
  • Hunger and drive to grow a business and overcome challenges daily.
  • Living in either Sydney or Brisbane.

Highly desired experience:

  • Hotel experience, working with GRMS (Guest Room Management Systems) or RCU related BDM.
  • Technically minded in providing hotel automation solutions or a BDM who has sold these solutions (and has developed relationships, you might not be an expert in the technology, but our client could train you on this)
  • Experience selling the following solutions to major developers and builders. Lighting Control Systems, Smart Building Solutions, Hotel RFID Lock Systems, Alarm Systems, Security & CCTV, Access Control Systems, Hotel Safes, Electrical & Automation Products, Systems & Solutions.
