Company

Our client is a trusted and well-known building products brand that’s been operating for over 100 years in Australia. Until now they have been selling to the residential, retail and wholesale markets. They have recently launched a high-grade commercial brand and now rolling this out across USA, Europe, and Australia.

It’s an exciting time to be joining our client as they launch their brand-new commercial side of the business internationally, here in Australia and break new ground in 2024. They have several factories across the globe, custom design, manufacture and install any type of commercial project. Next year our client will move into their purpose-built brand-new facility in western Sydney and continue with their rapid expansion plans.


Role


In the newly created position, you will be setting up the commercial/contract side of the business along the East Coast of Australia. This is a greenfield position, building the business from the ground up and will offer massive scope for growth. You will leverage from their sister companies, firmly established distribution, supply chains and manufacturing facilities.


You will target market sectors, such as, Aged Care, Government, Multi-Residential, Hospitality, Pubs & Clubs, Outdoor Parks/Living, Builders, Developers & Landscape Architects. You will go after markets you have the most experience, knowledge, and contacts in initially. Lots of different routes to market to target and you will be establishing this new business across the country.


We require someone who is prepared to develop the role, brand, and client base. You must have resilience and prepared to go through the growing pains of a start up business. Someone driven, resourceful and with an entrepreneurial mindset would thrive in this type of position.


You will have a strategic approach to your sales and will look at the bigger picture while you put together a longer-term view go to market strategy. Huge scope for growth is offered with the whole of the East coast, future expansion plans and eventually building a field sales team around you.

The position will be hybrid, working from the office, home, on the road and traveling interstate.


Skills & Experience

To be successful in the position your must have the following:

  • Strong contacts and relationships with Architects or Landscape Architects with Tier 1&2 firms. Contacts and previous history selling to Government (State & Local) is highly desired.
  • Good tenure across your career and seeking a longer-term career move.
  • Prepared to build a business from the ground up and confident in your ability to bring on new clients.
  • Strong experience in the commercial / contract market selling building products directly to Aged Care, Pubs & Clubs, Hospitality, Builders, Multi-Res, Shopping Centres & End Users.
  • Business Development driven and hunter mentality.
  • Happy to work in a small team, working well autonomously and with limited structure.
  • Someone with contacts in other cities and states is highly desired, such as, Brisbane & Gold Coast.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
