Role

This full time role is suitable for someone looking to build and establish their career with a high-end brand in the interior design industry.

Reporting to the Director, the Sales & Design Consultant will help service the industry’s Tier 1 leading interior designers, architects and stylists as well as their high end retail clientele.

A big part of the job will be nurturing and expanding a client database, building trust with repeat contacts, and becoming a dependable point of contact for people who already have a fair understanding of the product range. The customer mix is heavily trade-led, roughly 80% interior designers and architects and 20% retail.

This is a consultative, service-led role in a beautifully presented environment, working across a predominantly trade customer base of interior designers and architects, along with a smaller retail segment. It is not a forceful sales culture. Customers are often informed, design-aware, and looking for guidance, follow-up, and someone they can trust to help them make the right selections.

Our client will provide full product training, ongoing support and career development. This role is full-time Monday - Friday 5 days per week; with 1 rostered Saturday per month. Weekday off when rostered on Saturday.


Key Responsibilities
  • Working directly with designers / architects / retail clients in our clients showroom to specify their broad range of rug, carpet & textile options - including custom work
  • 80% trade A&D, 20% retail approximately
  • Looking after all walk ins and pre-arranged bookings
  • Responding to client requests by email and phone from initial enquiry to final delivery
  • Issuing quotes/product specs to clients and carpet tender responses to builders
  • Liaising directly with sub-contractors to coordinate deliveries and carpet installations
  • Assisting with the overall day to day running of the showroom to ensure it's perfectly displayed
  • Ensuring sample libraries are up to date
  • Working at trade fairs and other events to represent and promote our clients brand
  • Networking with the A&D community across Australia

Skills & Experience
  • Previous sales experience in high-end retail / design industry is highly desirable but not essential
  • Resourcefulness with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to multi-task, problem solve and effectively achieve team objectives
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills including high level computer literacy
  • Experience in the day-to-day operations of a retail business or in another fast-paced environment
  • Experience or education in the design industry
  • Experience working with architectural plans

Salary on offer is $75,000 - $85,000 Base + Super + Bonuses
