The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, sales-focused professional to join the business in an internal sales capacity, working closely with an established customer base.
This role is perfect for an external sales rep who isn't quite enjoying the solitary life of on the road sales. Alternatively, it's also great for those seeking stable hours, a collaborative team environment and those missing a connection in their current role.
You’ll engage directly with existing clients over the phone and via email, focusing on strengthening relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving product sales. With no cold calling required, you’ll be working with customers who already know and trust the brand.
This role offers a mix of account management, sales development, and customer support, with opportunities to collaborate with the wider sales team and participate in occasional in-person client visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular communication
- Proactively develop accounts by promoting targeted products, pricing offers, and special deals
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the existing customer base
- Support the launch and promotion of new products while identifying alternative product solutions
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies
- Ensure pricing is aligned with company direction and provide feedback on competitor pricing
- Maintain accurate customer pricing structures and product information
- Collaborate with the State Sales Manager and field sales team on growth initiatives
- Provide support to the Customer Service team, including handling enquiries and processing orders
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in sales and/or customer service
- Experience in the building materials / construction sector is highly regarded
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and influence customers
- Self-motivated with a target-driven mindset
- Experience using CRM systems and sales tools
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
